Robbers held up employees at Trader Joe’s in Santa Barbara Sunday night, police to confirm to KSBY News.

Santa Barbara police say officers responded to the store located on the 200 block of N. Milpas Street after the call came in just before 10:30 p.m., about an hour-and-a-half after the store had closed for the day.

Police say investigating officers discovered people armed with guns came into the store and demanded money. Police have not disclosed how many robbers there were or how much money they got away with, but did say they took cash and got into a vehicle before taking off.

Police say due to the active investigation, limited information is being released at this time.

They’re working on gathering any surveillance video available and say they’re also investigating whether or not this robbery is tied to other similar robberies in Southern California.
