Inland valleys starting to have relief from the heat

After a warm couple of days, the inland valleys are starting to cool down on Tuesday. Instead of the near triple-digit temperatures, daytime highs for the interior portions of the Central Coast will range from the low to upper 80s. Coastal valleys will still be in the 70s Tuesday and the beaches will hover around the low to upper 60s.

Patchy low clouds and fog will spread over San Luis Obispo County’s coastline in the morning before afternoon clearing. Santa Barbara County should see more fog and marine layer in the morning. As a result of onshore flow, the fog and marine layer might make it difficult for afternoon clearing at the beaches.

It will be a pretty breezy day as winds are starting to increase. By the afternoon hours, expect winds to be within a 15-20 mile per hour with gusts just below 25 mph. More cooling is in the forecast for the interior valleys for Wednesday before daytime highs will heat up again by the weekend.
