A 10-year-old girl missing after going to dinner with her mother was located this week in Santa Barbara, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities began looking for Isla June Duncan June 1 after they were called to a home in North Fork to reports of a potential parental abduction.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office says the girl left Thursday evening with her mom, who said they were going to dinner, but the girl had not returned by the following day.
Monday, the sheriff’s office say Isla had been found in Santa Barbara and was safe.
They said she would remain in the custody of Santa Barbara police under she could be reunited with her father.
Madera is a California county located north of Fresno.
