A "THC Fair" is planned for this weekend in San Luis Obispo.

The non-consumption event is an expo "focusing on celebrating cannabis and industrial hemp" and will feature local businesses.

Promoters say the goal of the The Hemp & Cannabis Fair is a smoke-free, educational event.

A series of lectures will cover medicinal uses, growing and harvesting techniques, as well as cooking.

“We are excited to share everything needed to grow, process and enjoy cannabis in one amazing expo,” stated Naomi Forkash, the Director of the Fair. “We see an increasingly wide demographic of attendees as it becomes more universally accepted to discuss cannabis use. We feel fortunate to be able to provide a safe, educational and fun place to explore cannabis.”

The Hemp & Cannabis Fair will take place June 9-10 at the Alex Madonna Expo Center.

The event is restricted to those who are 21 and older. In accordance with California state recreational marijuana guidelines, there will be no on-site consumption or sales of cannabis promoted or allowed.
