Summer can be a difficult time of year for students who rely on school meals, so the San Luis Coastal Unified School District is offering free meals this summer for kids and teens.

The federally-funded program is available to anyone 18-years-old and younger.

The free meals will be available at eight locations Mondays through Thursday from June 18 to July 19.

Free lunch will also be available at the library in Nipomo on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays from June 8 to July 28.

Parents can also text FOOD (for English) or COMIDA (for Spanish) to 877-877 to find a summer meal distribution site near them. You may also call the National Hunger Hotline at 1-866-3-HUNGRY for more information.
