A family in Santa Ynez was displaced Friday night when part of their house caught fire.
The fire broke out in a back bedroom of the home on Tiana Dr. shortly after 9:30 p.m., according to Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni.
Fire crews contained the fire to the bedroom and the things inside that room but smoke damaged the entire house.
The family got out safely. The Red Cross is helping them find a place to stay while a fire investigator works to figure out what happened.
Four engines responded to the fire, the cause of which is under investigation.
