School may be out for the summer but there’s an opportunity for kids to learn about law enforcement jobs.
The Santa Maria Police Teen Academy is designed to give young people, grades 7-12, the opportunity to learn about the law enforcement profession.
Participants get the chance to get a better understanding of how law enforcement services in the City of Santa Maria work.
The Academy includes: basic introduction to law enforcement operations, a wide variety of classroom instruction, hands-on training, a visit to the local Law Enforcement Academy and youth interacting with Santa Maria police officers.
Youth are encouraged to join now. The academy takes place from July 16 through 20.
