After a year of disasters like the Thomas Fire and mudslides, the Annual Summer Solstice Parade and Festival had a different meaning this year.
In its 44th year, the parade, hosted in Santa Barbara, highlighted the human spirit. The theme was dubbed ‘The Hero Within Us.’
According to organizers, planning was delayed this year due to the Thomas Fire and mudslide disasters.
Many lined the Santa Barbara streets to see the creativity in floats in costumes.
The festival continues on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
