Phones stolen from SLO Costco during overnight break-in

Posted

Police are investigating a burglary that reportedly happened overnight at the San Luis Obispo Costco.

Police say the burglar or burglars gained access into the store sometime after 11 p.m. Sunday and 3:45 a.m. Monday and were able to get away without a large amount of cell phones from an internal supply area.

Officers say they were notified of the theft at about 3:47 a.m. Monday when an employee arrived at the store and noticed the phones were gone.

Those responsible cut through a back door of the building to gain access, according to police, who say the store’s alarm did not go off.

Police say they are working with store employees to review video footage to see what, if anything, may have been captured on surveillance cameras.

An exact dollar amount of the items taken was not immediately available.
