Congressman Salud Carbajal will tour the detention facility Monday in Texas where immigrant children are held.
The Department of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services say about 2,000 kids are at the facility.
Carbajal will see firsthand the effects of family separations at the Tornillo detention facility near the El Paso port of entry on the U.S.-Mexico border. Carbajal says he plans to question DHS on the process of reuniting families.
This facility is funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which is under the jurisdiction of HHS.
