A parking enforcement officer and a suspect were both killed during an altercation at Cal Poly Pomona Friday afternoon.
Police said the officer was stabbed by the suspected at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Pomona Boulevard. Shortly after, the suspect was shot and killed by police nearby.
I just arrived at the Cal Poly incident. I can confirm a murder of a Cal Poly Pomona Police Parking Officer, and Pomona Police police officer involved shooting with the suspect, who didn’t survive.

Police conducted extra searches and told people to stay away from the area as a precaution. The identity of the officer killed has not been released.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo campus police tweeted out their condolences to those impacted Friday night, saying their hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the officer.

The investigation is being handled by the local sheriff’s department.
