San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s officials say a Santa Margarita man burglarized his neighbor’s home.
Daniel Donald Becker, 42, was arrested on Thursday, June 26.
The day before, sheriff’s officials say Becker’s neighbor on the 12000 block of Davenport Drive reported his home had been burglarized and he suspected Becker to be responsible. Two firearms, a tablet and some other items were taken.
A deputy responded to Becker’s home and reportedly found him holding one of the stolen items while standing inside a fenced-in area with several dogs. Sheriff’s officials say Becker refused to exit the property, so they secured arrest and search warrants to be served the next day.
Becker was taken into custody and the stolen property was reportedly recovered.
Becker was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing stolen property and for a misdemeanor arrest warrant out of Santa Barbara County for failure to appear. Sheriff’s officials say an additional charge of burglary was requested in the district attorney filing. Becker is being held on $27,000 bail.
