Gas prices in the Central Coast increased this week and remained above the national average.
According to the American Automobile Association in San Luis Obispo the average gas price per gallon is $3.84, a drop from a week ago when gas was averaging a penny more at $3.83 a gallon.
In Santa Barbara gasoline prices are lower averaging to $3.73 a gallon, also decreasing from last weeks per gallon price of $3.73.

The national average is $2.86 per gallon.
Overall gas prices in California have increased since the statewide gas tax was implemented in November. Gas in the state has gone up almost a dollar more than this time last year when it was at $2.93 per gallon.
