Posted

A Santa Maria organization is giving all profit from firework sales to several charities.

Fraternal Order of Eagles 1745 is donating their proceeds to St. Judes Children Hospital, Maxpayer Heart Fund, people with diabetes and the Mission Hope Cancer Center.

The group spent $20,000 buying the fireworks and paying other costs if they sell all of them they can make $6,000 profit.

They said sales started off slow, but tomorrow will be the biggest day for sales.

"Your looking at six days if we can make $6,000 that’s a thousand a day, I mean that’s good that helps us out with our club and donations to other organizations," said Johnny Martinez Fraternal Order of Eagles 1745 member.

The group has been selling fireworks for 20 years. Their stand is in front of Walmart on South Blosser Road in Santa Maria.
