Beaches start to cool, temps stay hot inland

Elevated fire danger will continue to be a threat in inland locations with most inland spots remaining under an excessive heat advisory. Dry and windy conditions will continue through the mountains and some valleys.

Some onshore flow will bring cooler temperatures to the beach Monday into Tuesday with daytime highs reaching the low to mid-70s. Temperatures reach the high 80’s in coastal valleys and triple digits continue inland.

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms through the L.A. County and northern Ventura Mountains Sunday afternoon. The available moisture is low, so while some storms may produce localized heavy showers, there is also a chance of isolated dry lightning.
