Emergency crews rescue stranded swimmers in Goleta

Posted

Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews responded to a report of stranded swimmers near Haskell’s Beach in Goleta Sunday afternoon.

Around 4:30, Public Information Officer Mike Eliason says Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Jason Sweet and Rescue Swimmer Rob Mack used a jet ski to rescue two 14-year-old girls who were stranded on rocks due to the rising tide.

Neither girl was injured, officials say.

A pattern of five to seven foot northwesterly sea and swell are developing during the morning hours, decreasing to four to six feet during the evening hours.
