A woman called police for a sexual assault in San Luis Obispo Sunday morning.

San Luis Obispo Police say the assault was reported from a home on the 100 block of Los Palos.

A woman in her 20’s told police she woke up to a man she didn’t know in her room, holding a sharp object and threatened to harm her if she screamed. He reportedly sexually assaulted her and then took off.

Police say they were unable to find the man after the incident. Evidence was collected and will be processed.

Officers say the man was likely able to get inside the house through an unlocked door. SLOPD says residents must lock all windows and doors to their homes and vehicles for safety precautions.
