A San Luis Obispo nonprofit group is putting the world on "paws" to break a Guinness World Record next week.

SLO County Golden Retrievers group has been accepted to break the Guinness World Record for the "largest dog photo shoot."

The group is inviting dogs of all breeds – pure bred, mixes, mutts, etc. – to pose for a picture following their annual Goldens in the Park event on July 14.

The event will raise money for the nonprofit group and also another featured nonprofit, the Hospice of SLO County Pet Peace of Mind Program.

The event is free and pups are encouraged to attend. There will be games, raffles, vendor and information booths, food and entertaining contests, according to organizers.

Goldens in the Park will be Laguna Lake Park, located at 498 Madonna Rd., San Luis Obispo, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The record-breaking photo shoot will take place between 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The goal is to have at least 200 dogs in the photo. In order to break the world record, they need at least 109 dogs. The current record is 108 dogs.
