The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office say no charges will be filed in connection with a deadly crash in Santa Maria earlier this year involving a bicyclist and Santa Maria transit bus.

Santa Maria police and City officials released few details after the April 2 crash at the corner of Caballero and McCoy Lane that left Veronica Zamora brain dead, citing the ongoing investigation.

The police report was forwarded to the DA’s Office for review. That review has been completed and it was determined no charges would be filed, according to the DA’s Office.

On April 23, an attorney representing the Zamora family filed four claims against the City of Santa Maria in connection with her death.

The City in May rejected the claims.

Calls to the Zamora family attorney Tuesday for comment have not yet been returned.
