UPDATE (7:00 a.m.) – Santa Barbara County Sheriffs Officers conducted patrols throughout Wednesday night and deputies located the possible two suspects on the 1200 block of Coast Village Road early Thursday morning.
A perimeter has been established and officers are actively searching the area.
Residents within the 1200 block of Coast Village Road are asked to shelter in place and report any suspicious activity.
Others are asked to avoid the area.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriffs Department is searching for two males and residents have been advised to take shelter in Montecito Wednesday night.
According to authorities, just before 10:30 p.m. a resident inside a home of the 100 block on Santa Elena called 911 after hearing multiple suspects trying to break in.
Officials say three male suspects, one wearing a white T-shirt, were possibly armed and fled the residence.
An emergency notification was sent to residents in the area requesting they shelter in place.
A Sheriff’s K-9 team, a Santa Barbara County Air Support team, the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement team and detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division responded to assist in the search.
As of 1:15 a.m the Sheriff’s Department has one suspect located and detained.
There is an active search to locate the other two suspects.
Residents in the area are advised to shelter in place and report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
