Los Osos Rotary club collecting old electronics for recycling

Posted

A group in Los Osos is cutting down impacts to local landfills by hundreds of tons.

The Rotary Club is collecting large electronics to help take some weight off of landfills.

If you have old TV sets and other electronics you need to get rid of, drop them off at the Trinity Church between 5-7 p.m. Friday or Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

"It would be bad for this stuff to go into the landfill, it would be good for the people who have the stuff in their garage that doesn’t work anymore and it’s good for the Rotary Club because we could use some help with our funding for projects," said Los Osos Rotarian committee chair person Gary Dove.

The club does this every six months and expects to pick up more than 100 tons this week.

They do not accept items like batteries or washing machines.
