The heat wave continues in both the short-term and long-term forecast periods across southwest California. It`s still dangerously hot for the inland valleys and mountains with readings today well into the upper 90s and triple-digits.
A slight cool off over the coastal areas is expected going into the weekend, as the center of high pressure moves east. Every night this week morning low clouds are expected before they burn off.
Coastal areas will have another battle with low clouds and fog in the morning, followed by some beaches being slow to clear at all.
Excessive heat warnings and advisories will remain in place through Friday night.
This weekend, expect very minor temperature fluctuations with continued very hot conditions for inland valleys with highs in the upper 90s-triple-digits, and many low temperatures at night.
