6 things to do this weekend on the Central Coast

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are some of the events happening around the Central Coast:

SATURDAY, AUGUST 4

Stride with the Tide 5K Run
7:15 a.m. – registration
8:30 a.m. – race starts
Pismo Beach Pier
This 5K race begins on the south side of the Pismo Beach Pier and is an out-and-back course on the sand. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age division.
Registration: $15 for race only or $25 for race plus a T-shirt or cap.

Charles Paddock Zoo Series: Animal Munchies
2 p.m.
Paso Robles City Library, 1000 Spring St., Paso Robles
The library has partnered with the zoo for its Summer Reading Program. In this edition, kids will learn the difference between herbivores, carnivores, insectivores, and omnivores with live animal ambassadors, skulls and teeth. 
Free event. However, tickets are required and will be available at the Children’s Desk 30 minutes prior to show time.

Aloha Hawaii Live
7 p.m.
Clark Center for the Performing Arts, 487 Fair Oaks Ave., Arroyo Grande
This live show features Hawaiian music and entertainment from the islands of Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island.

Movies at the Mission
8-9:30 p.m.
Mission Plaza, San Luis Obispo
Disney’s "Zootopia" will be shown starting at dusk. Bring a picnic or buy treats from the concession stand and enjoy the movie in a unique outdoor setting.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 5

Fiesta Car Show
10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara, 632 East Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara
As many as 100 cars will be featured. The event will also include a tri-tip cook-off, live music, vendors, food, beer, wine, and a raffle for a BMW convertible. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club programs.

Veterans Benefit Concert
1-4 p.m.
Cambria Veterans Building, 1000 Main St., Cambria
Rio Salinas and Louie Ortega will perform live in a benefit for Ride-On’s Veterans Express Shuttle. Tacos, refreshments, wine, and beer will also be available for purchase.
