Richard Nares is running more than 17-hundred miles from Seattle, Washington to San Diego to raise funds for ENF’s programs.

Richard’s Heart and Sole Run for Emilio began on Monday, June 4 at the Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Richard, who recently turned 65, will continue his route through Santa Barbara and arrive at the Santa Barbara Cottage Children’s Medical center on Friday, August 3.

Richard will donate Emilio’s Loving Tabs shirts, innovative shirts designed with an open-close shoulder panel to allow medical professionals to easily administer chemotherapy into a child’s permanent chest catheter port.

Richard will then continue for approximately 2 more weeks with stops at children’s hospitals in Los Angeles, Orange County and ending in San Diego.

The Emilio Nares Foundation was founded in 2003 by Richard and Diane Nares after losing their son Emilio to cancer right before his sixth birthday.

Richard Nares did a run in 2013 where he ran 700 miles across California and raised over $200,000 to support ENF’s programs.

On this years run, Richard will visit nine different hospital along his route.
