Students received new backpacks with school supplies Thursday afternoon at "Stuff the Backpacks" in Grover Beach.
The Lucia Mar School District is part of an event that sends a little more than 150 kids to school with donated supplies.
Each year, a new child is excited to get back to school to show off their new stuff.
The Boys & Girls Club, along with Greater Pismo Kiwanis and Grover Beach Rotary (with support from the Arroyo Grande Rotary Club) helped hand out each of the full backpacks at Grover Heights Elementary School.
The kids participate in a 9-week summer camp through the Boys & Girls’ Club and get to pick the color of their new backpack before they’re given out.
