A San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Commander will take over as undersheriff next year.

A sheriff’s office spokesman confirms that SLO County Sheriff Ian Parkinson has appointed Jim Voge to replace current Undersheriff Tim Olivas, who is retiring at the end of the year.

The role of the undersheriff includes overseeing two chief deputies, a custody captain, who oversees operations at the jail, and administrative services, according to the sheriff’s office.
