Firefighters say a Good Samaritan helped rescue a woman from her burning Santa Barbara apartment Friday morning.
The Santa Barbara City Fire Department says crews responded to reports of the fire in a second-story unit of an apartment along the 3700 block of Gregory Way shortly before 10:30 a.m.
Evacuations were issued for other units of the apartment but no other units were damaged, officials say.
Firefighters say the woman who called 911 helped get the person inside the burning unit to safety. She then reportedly assisted with additional evacuations at the apartment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
