Shoes for Students provides gift cards to local students who need clothes and shoes.
A fund raising golf tournament will be held Sunday, September 9 at the Santa Maria Country Club.
This is the 18th year that Shoes for Students has hosted a fund raising golf tournament.
The cost to play 18 holes at the private country club is $150 per person, which includes range balls, a cart, lunch, dinner and snacks, drinks and activities at the holes throughout the day.
Dinner tickets for non-golfers are $35 each. There are a variety of sponsorship levels and sponsor incentives starting at $200.
The proceeds from the fundraiser support school-age children throughout the Santa Maria Valley.
Shoes for Students, a local non-profit organization, purchases gift cards from Payless Shoes and Walmart and distributes them to students in need through the local schools, homeless programs, and youth-centered agencies.
The golf tournament and dinner is Shoes for Students’ primary fund raiser. The group also helps financially support other local non-profits that work to make life better for children in the community, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Maria Valley.
