Pottery Coast in Grover Beach gave back to its community by hosting a bowl-making marathon Thursday night.

The ceramic studio is aiming to create and donate more than 200 bowls for the Five Cities Homeless Coalition luncheon.

The studio was full as potters were on their wheels, hand-building bowls until the job was done.

No word yet on how many bowls were made during the marathon, but we have reached out to organizers to learn more.

The Empty Bowls Community Luncheon will be Sept. 26.
