A vehicle plunged more than 100 feet over the side of Highway 154 injuring the driver, according to Santa Barbara County Fire.

The 64-year-old driver suffered "minor to moderate" injuries in the crash west of Paradise Road. It is unclear why the vehicle left the road.

Passersby were able to remove the man from the vehicle before emergency crews arrived. Search and rescue crews used a rope system to bring the man up.

He was transported to a Santa Barbara hospital, said public information officer Mike Eliason. The man’s condition is unknown.

Buellton CHP is investigating.
