Fire crews are responding to a fire off Hwy 166 according to California Highway Patrols incident information page.
The fire was reported at 1:34 p.m.
According to the page, the blaze started northeast of Highway 166 and later spread closer to the highway.
The fire is being handled by the United States Forest Service Los Padres.
The traffic incident information page says Cal Trans is also responding to the fire and that Highway 166 at New Cuyama might close down.
