Front Fire grows to 1,000 acres

A fire that broke out Sunday afternoon off Highway 166 near the Cuyama Valley has grown to 1,000 acres.

The latest update was released Monday morning by wildlife officials. At last check, the Front Fire was just 5 percent contained.

An estimated 700 personnel along with air tankers and helicopters are currently assigned to the fire, which sparked in the Rockfront OHV area of the Los Padres National Forest. 

No evacuations have been issued.

Full containment is expected by the end of the week.

The cause is under investigation.
