Containment numbers continue to go up at the Front Fire east of Santa Maria while acreage is not growing.

Fire officials announced Wednesday night that the fire is 83 percent contained after burning 936 acres.

Just over 400 firefighters and personnel are assigned to the Front Fire that broke out Sunday afternoon off of Highway 166.

There are no longer any evacuations in place. However, numerous trails and areas in the forest are closed so firefighters can continue their work.

Fire officials aim to have the fire fully contained by Sunday at noon.
