The Front Fire, which broke out Sunday off of Highway 166 about 30 miles east of Santa Maria, is now 98 percent contained.
According to fire officials, the fire has burned 1,014 acres in the Rockfront Ranch area of the Los Padres National Forest.
Full containment is expected by Wednesday, Aug. 29.
More than 240 fire personnel are still at the scene, but many resources have been released to assist with other fires throughout the state.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and a forest closure is still in effect.
