Two actors from The Sandlot are signing autographs at a Paso Robles Youth Baseball event Saturday.

Marty York who played Alan ‘Yeah-Yah’ McClennan and Victor Dimattia who played Timmy Timmons in the movie will be at Sherwood Park from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Paso Robles Youth Baseball Secretary Kristen Langager said the idea of having the actors participate in the event started a few months ago when someone heard the actors were going to be in Atascadero for a screening of the movie.

Some cast members are doing a press tour to promote the movie’s 25 year anniversary.

Langager said she reached out to the actors who agreed to attend the free event is hosted by the Paso Robles Pony Baseball team.

She said the event is to get kids excited about baseball and to kick off their early registration date.

The event is going to have a 50/50 raffle bar and a taco bar. All of the proceeds from the taco bar are going towards field and equipment costs.
