Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office arrested a man they caught burglarizing a home in the 4300 block of Via Presada in Hope Ranch.
The Sheriff’s Public Safety Dispatch Center got a call from a woman who lived at the home around 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24. The woman said she was seeing a man inside her home through a security camera she installed inside the house.
A press release from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said several deputies responded to the home and made a perimeter around the house.
The release said within minutes 30-year-old Santa Barbara resident Jose Calixtro opened a window and crawled through into the backyard. Sheriff’s deputies met him outside and arrested him.
Calixtro stole several items from the home.
He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for burglary and possession of stolen property.
His bail is set for $50,000.
