A convicted felon and known Lompoc gang member was arrested Thursday after being found with drugs and a loaded gun, according to police.
Lompoc police say they first tried to stop Fabian Angel Castillo, who is reportedly on active post release supervision, shortly before 4:15 p.m. along the 400 block of N. "L" Street.
Officers say Castillo, 33, jumped out of his vehicle while it was still moving and threw a baggie on the ground while being chased. The vehicle then crashed into two other parked cars, according to police.
Castillo was taken into custody a short time later.
Police say a loaded .32 caliber revolver with an altered or destroyed serial number was found in his waistband and more than 16 grams of various quantities of heroin with a street value of approximately $1,600 was found in the baggie Castillo reportedly threw when running.
Castillo was booked into the Lompoc jail and was being held without bail, according to police.
