Sunday morning the California Highway Patrol reported there have been 12 deaths on roadways across the state since the start of Labor Day weekend.
Of those, ten were motorists and two were pedestrians. There have been 685 DUI arrests.
Officers across the state and on the central coast are stepping up enforcement for the holiday weekend. There will be more patrol officers on roadways until 11:59 p.m. Monday.
Since the holiday weekend began at 6:01 p.m. Friday, 10 motorists and 2 pedestrians have tragically lost their lives on our roadways. CHP officers have made 685 DUI arrests. Please buckle up, drive sober, obey speed limits, and eliminate distractions behind the wheel.
