A drive-by paintball gun assault led the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office to arrest four men on charges of conspiracy and felony assault.

Just after midnight, Saturday deputies from the Isla Vista Foot Patrol got a report of people in a car shooting at pedestrians with a paintball gun in the 6600 block of Picasso Road and in the 700 block of Camino Del Sur.

Deputies talked to a victim who had injuries to his chest, arm and leg. The vehicle was described as a small, black compact car.

After searching, deputies found the car at the corner of Picasso Road and Camino Pescadero. Inside the car were a paintball gun, a bag of paintballs and a paintball in one of the passenger’s pockets.

Four people were inside the vehicle, 20-year-old Jelani Bell, 21-year-old Alonzo Gude, 21-year-old Marques Russell and 19-year-old Elliot Couillard.

All four men were arrested. They are being held at the Santa Barbara County Jail. Their bail is $30,000.
