Cal Poly named ‘best in the west’ for 26th year

For the 26th year in a row, U.S. News & World Report has named Cal Poly San Luis Obispo the best public, masters-level university in the west. 

The publication just released its annual "Best Colleges" guidebook.

It ranked Cal Poly 12th overall for regional universities in the west and U.C. Santa Barbara was ranked 5th on the list of "Top 30 Public National Universities."

Cal Poly was also named first in the west for "Most Innovative Schools," eighth on the list of best undergraduate teaching programs in the west, eighth among the best master’s/bachelor’s engineering programs in the nation, and sixth in the west for most veteran-friendly universities.

UCSB placed 30th on the list of "Best National Universities," fourth among public universities, tenth on the list of "Best Colleges for Veterans," and 14th for "Best Ethnic Diversity."
