CoastHills Credit Union is collecting donations to help fund the Lompoc Community Track and Field Project and has announced it will match up to $25,000 in donations.
The project, expected to cost $2.4 million, would completely remodel Lompoc High School’s track and football field. Plans include a new synthetic turf field, nine-lane rubberized track, and space for pole vault, high jump, long jump, triple jump, and shot put.
The new track and field would be used by athletes from both Lompoc and Cabrillo High School. It would be open at certain times for public use, as well.
