Police are asking for help identifying a man they say is involved in a "child annoyance" investigation in Grover Beach.

Police say they were called to the 300 block of North 5th Street at about 6:50 p.m. Monday to reports of a man in a station wagon pulling up to children in the neighborhood and talking to them.

The man reportedly had other young children in the car with him and left the area after being confronted by a neighbor.

Police have not said the man committed a crime, but are hoping to find out who he is so they can talk to him.

The vehicle involved is described as a tan or gold station wagon, possibly a Ford Taurus, with a Dodgers decal on the back. The man was reportedly wearing a camouflage hat with the word "CALI" on it.

Anyone with information that may help police with their investigation into the incident is asked to contact Officer Lopez at (805) 473-4511 email him at slopez@gbpd.org.
