A free event this weekend in Solvang, now in its 82nd year, will celebrate the founding of the town.
Many hotels are booked and preparations underway for Solvang Danish Days.
Organizers say 20,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which kicks off Friday with an opening ceremony at 8 p.m. at Midgaard Pavilion, 1639 Copenhagen Dr.
Saturday and Sunday there will be live music, food, activities for kids and more.
An aebleskiver eating contest for all ages will take place Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on Copenhagen Drive at First Street.
Aebleskiver breakfast tickets can also be purchased.
At the Elverhoj Museum, attendees can check out free, interactive displays on Viking life and more.
