The 16-member emergency management team from Santa Barbara County arrived Thursday in Virginia.
After being briefed by local resources, the team went to work, according to Santa Barbara County Fire’s Facebook page.
"Operations members familiarized themselves with the area, while logistics, planning, and leadership begin to create an Incident Action Plan," the post stated.
Currently, the team is located west of Richmond. As the storm continues to move inland, the team may relocate to another area if needed.
They are expected to be gone for two to four weeks.
