The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office identified the remains of a man found in a Santa Barbara neighborhood last month.
The decomposed body was found in the yard of a home on Clearview Road on September 14. Deputies say it was a local transient in his 60’s, but they haven’t released the man’s name because they haven’t been able to find his family.
No foul play is suspected. The case was turned over to the Public Administrator’s Office.
The people who owned the home where the body was found had just moved in a couple weeks before the incident. They were doing yard work when they came across the body.
Originally, investigators said the body was in such bad shape they couldn’t identify whether it was a man or woman.
