A new study by the University of Southern California ranks Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as the worst college in California for African-American students.
The study compared public universities across the state by measuring their enrollment, GPA, retention and graduation rates for diverse populations.
Researchers gave Cal Poly a “D” grade saying black students are under-represented on campus with fewer enrolled there than any other school in the state.
However, Cal Poly’s graduation rates among diverse students ranked higher than some other school across California.
