Some generous high school students chopped off their locks on Friday to help out some cancer patients in need.

Local stylists paired up with eight to 10 girls at Templeton High School as a part of the Pony Up initiative.

The participants signed up to donate at least eight inches of hair to go to an organization called Children With Hair Loss.

The organization uses donations to make wigs for young people who have lost their hair due to medical treatments, such as chemotherapy.

The Pony Up activity was held to encourage others to donate their hair to Children With Hair Loss or charities with similar missions.
