SLO police search for burglary suspect in home near Madonna Road

A suspect escaped capture on Saturday evening after attempting to burglarize a home on Pinecove Drive, according to San Luis Obispo Police.

The resident was home at the time of the break-in around 4:40 p.m. Sgt. Bryan Treanor said the male suspect came through the backyard and broke the rear glass door.

When the resident went to investigate the sound, the suspect took off running. Treanor said there was no mention of any kind of weapon.

A responding officer located a potential suspect matching the description, but the man fled.

A helicopter was then used to attempt to find the suspect, but the suspect was able to escape.

Treanor said there is no threat to the public. The resident told police they did not know the suspect.

There were no injuries.
