Woman suffers minor injuries in crash on Highway 1

CHP responded to a minor injury traffic collision on Highway 1 Wednesday afternoon.

It happened near Mile Post Marker 11.5 around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

CHP says a Lompoc man was driving northbound when he collided with a car that was stopped because of construction and traffic. That car was pushed into another car, causing several cars to bump into each other. A total of five vehicles were involved.

A Lompoc woman suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to a local hospital.

None of the other drivers were injured.

CHP issued a Sig Alert, and Highway 1 was closed in both directions for about an hour while officers investigated.

CHP says alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The exact cause is still under investigation.
