Some Montecito firefighters are spending the Thanksgiving holiday helping victims of the Camp Fire in Butte County.

Montecito Fire posted a photo on Instagram Thursday, saying crews are still searching homes and buildings and trying to provide closure for families.

The picture shows Firefighter/Paramedic Bennewate and his partner from Santa Barbara City Fire. Crews are using a Ford F250, which Direct Relief donated to Montecito Fire after the Montecito mudslides. The post says the donation is now “impacting a much wider area.”

Debris flows and mudslides have been a concern in the Camp Fire burn scar with rain in the forecast Thursday evening into Friday.

As many of us settle in for a family meal, at @montecitofire we reflect on the last year and are Thankful for countless items, not the least of which is our ability to help others. Still up in Butte County, the crews of #rtf12 continue to search homes and buildings. They have been able to provide closure for a few families, and have found many empty homesites. Here is our Firefighter/Paramedic Bennewate and his partner from @santabarbaracityfire . The next slide is one of hundreds of markings made by our crews so far. A shout out to @directrelief who donated that @ford F250 during our debris flow emergency. Now their donation is impacting a much wider area! @montecitostrong @93108fund #805strong #fordtrucks #fordf250 #usar @californiafirefighter @califirefighters
